From Funchal in Madeira it's a case of Buy One, Get Two Free for today.

In the background there is Caribbean Princess, the ship we recently cruised on from Italy to Florida. The two ships in the foreground are vessels for taking tourists on pleasure trips with the more interesting-looking one being the Santa Maria de Colombo, a replica of Columbus's vessel built in 1998.

A grey day with heavy, thick, light-coloured clouds completely filling the sky. We're standing at the edge of a marina with some wooden jetties in front of us. Two vessels are moored directly in front of us and in the distance, against a stone harbour wall running perpendicular to our view there is a large cruise ship. The nearest ship on the left is a pleasure boat with a couple of masts. We can see its back where the name "Margarita Sunset" is above the place name "Funchal". It looks large enough to take a dozen people out for scenic sailing in the waters. The vessel to its right is the most impressive in this scene; it's a replica of the sort of fifteenth century sailing or pirate ship that Columbus would have taken across the Atlantic to "discover" America. It's a squat ship with brown wooden planks making up its hull and high sides. It has several masts with sails furled up. The cruise ship in the background is white, facing to the right, and we can see a blue cruise line logo on its funnel stack. It feels a little cool and drizzly.

@toxision We checked reviews of the various tourist boats in Funchal and that one didn't have very good ratings at all. I don't recall anyone mentioning that it seemed to have a mind of its own, though.
