Virgin's Resilient Lady is in today for the first of her cruises from our city. She got in late because of the wind. This is her approaching Portsmouth Point with the Still & West and Spice Island pubs. We know a stupid number of people cruising on her today.

Naturally, this image was shared on FB and the first comment was "My idea of hell" and, really, why? Why be so sadly predictable? Miserable scum. Say nothing and scroll by.

An overcast day with a spit of land jutting out onto flat, grey sea on which there are a number of old buildings, none over three storeys, and two sporting pub names. Behind, and dwarfing them, is a cruise ship, mostly in white but with red trim along its top funnel casings and navigations and communications arrays. Black funnels top it all off.
