Greta Thunberg says:

"As much as I hate to admit it, Beyoncé was wrong. It is *not* girls who run the world. It is run by politicians, corporations, and financial interests — mainly represented by white, privileged, middle-aged, straight cis-men. And it turns out most of these are terribly ill-suited for the job. This may not come as a big surprise. After all, the purpose of a company is not to save the world — it is to make a profit, as much profit as it possibly can in order to keep shareholders and market interests happy."

That's from page 200 of “The Climate Book” -- penguinrandomhouse.com/books/7

@mindaslab You're not being funny. Printing books is not a major contributor to climate change.

You need to read many books on an e-book reader before you can compare the environmental load for printing the books to the environmental load for manufacturing the reader. And the reader is still peanuts to many other things you own and use.

@breadandcircuses

@clacke @breadandcircuses yup, books are printed with natural inks, so they don't use petroleum. They us no chemicals to bleach paper, so they are environmentally friendly. Since they are made of antimatter it takes negative energy to transport them, infact space in your home grows if you stack 100s of them. Ebooks are a mess compared to printed books.

Thank you for opening my eyes.
