Matthew Burton<p>Maybe I’m just old and I haven’t set up this hand computer correctly, but when I click a link here to NYT or WaPo, it opens the article in a Mastadon app-embedded web page, which complains that I’m not a subscriber (I am). Then I tap the button to open the page in Safari, and again it complains. And THEN I click the button to open the app, and I get…usually, the home page of the paper. And THEN I go back to safari and tap the “open app” button AGAIN, and FINALLY it works. </p><p>This is madness.</p>
