If you have not yet deleted your #Twitter account, NOW is the time to do so.
It will be part of the incoming autocrat’s auxillary surveillance services soon.
Twitter has new terms of service that go into effect on Nov 15.
You will be required to consent to use all your twitter data for Musk’s AI to continue using your account:

Do not consent.
Nov 15: Put it on your calendar. Do whatever you gotta do to wipe everything before this date.
Here’s a good guide for how to delete your twitter account:

When the first twitter migration started, there was a debate about whether to deactivate/delete or protect tweets and abandon. I chose the second option at the time to protect my username.
But it’s a different world now.
The ideal for me would be a mass tweet deletion client to wipe the account and then abandon.
Does anyone know of a good one?
All I see as one that still works is TweetDelete: https://tweetdelete.net/
This website becomes aprt of the government in 74 days

@foodnpolitics All large corporations, especially tech, retail, real-estate, automotive, banking, and big oil, have all been in such close coordination with government for these past few decades, I just assume all corporations are the government.
@foodnpolitics I don't see the reason for outrage. It is a perfect opportunity to teach this AI how wrong fascism, misogyny and a government by billionaires for billionaires are.
@adritheonly @foodnpolitics You misunderstand how current AI systems work. You wouldn't be teaching it that such things are wrong, because it is is not capable of reference (in the sense of https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/reference/).
You would be teaching it how to identify when people are talking about these things being wrong. This can be used to identify, filter out, and/or persecute such speech.
There are not upsides.
@foodnpolitics I am not sure if my old content is still there or if they wiped out my account already, but today is the day when I'm gonna find out. And wipe it out my self.
IIRC there was a way to still keep the content by sending it to the archive.org? would anyone have a simple-enought-to-me instructions available?
@rpsu @foodnpolitics you can request an archive. It's incomplete. Use the archive parser at github to make it complete. https://github.com/timhutton/twitter-archive-parser
Free deleters are sometimes shaddy or inefficient, qnd sometimes mass deleted tweets are restored.
Maybe the best way out is insult musk to get banned, it's likely they will not restore it.
In all cases old toots are certainly going to train their ai.
@foodnpolitics Please let this be the final push for the rest of the Minecraft YouTubers to LEAVE
@foodnpolitics
Wiped it out 6 months ago....
@pg1958 @foodnpolitics
What deletion tool did you use?
@bornach @foodnpolitics
Just edited my personal info and deleted my account. Whatever they retained, who knows.
@foodnpolitics Good luck with that. I’m sorry to be a pessimist here but considering that site still has a shitload of people on it that should have left when they could ( aka journalists, etc) I fear nobody will follow you advice properly.
@foodnpolitics Agreed. I'd bet #X uses the posts of account holders who quit, too. I've come across tools that claim to actually delete your posts from the Twitter/X servers. I am dubious.
@foodnpolitics I just deleted my eX-Twitter account and uninstalled the X app. I hadn't used it since July of this year, but I had until now hesitated to jettison my 13 years of history there. But better that than let #FelonMuskrat's shoggoth AIs engulf and digest my tweets. From here on in, it's Mastodon for me!
@foodnpolitics Including European users? I was pretty sure Grok would *not* use EU users' data.
@collectifission @foodnpolitics I heard that the EU said they couldn't make it opt out, only opt in, so they made it mandatory instead
@collectifission @foodnpolitics Musk does not give a 'fnck' about the rule of law. I guarantee you he will use the data anyway.
@alterelefant @collectifission @foodnpolitics
People still there deserve a good beating. Rots a Ruuk
@foodnpolitics So. GET OFF TWITTER!!!
I have been trying.
I have not been able to get verification emails delivered. There are several possible explanations, but the address they are sent from may be triggering porn blocks.
I am not in the USA. The laws are different. I am checking my records. I am not hopeful.
@foodnpolitics @mastodonmigration currently looking at this, free version does add all tweets and premium does DMs and other stuff. Also archives to local device
@foodnpolitics Don't bother deleting - just get out. Remember: Content is a high-value ressource when you're running an AI. There's absolutely no way they're not keeping everything you "deleted" on their servers & using it for training anyway.
@jwcph @foodnpolitics If you care about impersonators or brand damage, be aware that deleting your account will eventually make its handle available for others to use.
@foodnpolitics I deleted my account months ago, with no regrets. Same with Facebook and Instagram, actually. Musk may twirl his mustache more obviously, but it's not like Zuckerberg has my interests at heart.
@foodnpolitics Don’t bother. When Musk takes his place in the US government, X accounts will become mandatory, linked to your Social Security Number. Free speech will come at a price.
(I’m still undecided on whether I should mark this as sarcasm or prediction.)
@foodnpolitics I’ve been trying to get into my account so I can delete, but there’s a MFA method I don’t recognize on and the backup code I saved a year ago isn’t working. I’m a little afraid my account has already been compromised.
@foodnpolitics I left mine in place, locked, on the assumption that any liabilities for me were already locked in with backups and pinky promises to actually delete anything I wanted deleted.
@foodnpolitics True. But it's already been owned by a Nazi for 939 days.
