Do you want to schedule your posts on Mastodon so that you write them now and they are automatically published later?

Some third party apps including Tusky and Fedilab have a built-in scheduling option. Fedilab also runs a website at plan.fedilab.app which lets you schedule posts.

If you want a professional scheduled post management system, there are third party commercial services such as publer.io and buffer.com that now include Mastodon compatibility.

FediTips has moved!

@taur10

Do you mean a scheduler? Or something else?

@feditips Similar, but without having to set date and time, instead you'd set a posting frequency, and then instead of selecting post or schedule, you'd select queue/add to queue.

@taur10

Posting frequency for what? A repeated message?

@feditips @taurnation is primarily a link share group, and sporadically I get around to going through the various art galleries where I follow artists that draw taurs and the like, which results in a flood of link posts. I try to space them out somewhere between 20 and 40 minutes, but not only do I have to keep track of the next time slot, it's possible to max out the scheduler.

@taur10 @taurnation

Ah, interesting situation.

As far as I know the only options with advanced scheduling stuff would be third party commercial services like those linked in the original post? They seem to have queue systems.

@feditips @taurnation Seems that way, though it seems like it'd be easy to do this client side, so I'm surprised no one's done it yet, after all the client would just have to know how often to check a file for posts and send the oldest one that's there. I think it's something I might be able to script using Toot or similar, but I wouldn't know where to start.

@taur10

For what it's worth, I've heard toot is very useful for automated scripts.

@feditips That's what I'm expecting, just have to figure out how. A client with a built in queue would obviously be easier.
