Last night's northern lights. Vertical shot. You probably want to click this one to see it bigger. This was a good show.
This is actually looking south. They were all around last night.
@bryanhansel Wow! You've a view right down it's throat! Or upstream, or something. Wow!
@bosquebill @bryanhansel Right in the grundle!
@bryanhansel I will see northern lights before I die.
@bryanhansel Helluva lot better than my phone photos. Gorgeous photo Bryan. It was a pretty fantastic night.
@bryanhansel Spectacular!!
@bryanhansel wow. That's nature's beauty
@bryanhansel very beautiful!
@bryanhansel That's gorgeous! Fantastic photo.
Wow, @bryanhansel
Looks like earth travelled at warp speed last night #startrek
@bryanhansel : this looks beautiful!
@bryanhansel that's spectacular! How long was that exposure? I barely saw the lights on the horizon in Canada once. I need to get to Iceland again..
@donncha most of the night, it was 1 to 4 second exposure at ISO 1600 to 6400. It was a bright display!
@bryanhansel that pretty gosh darn beautiful
@bryanhansel That is indeed astonishing. Thank you very much! #aurora
@bryanhansel does anyone else see a child’s face in the center? It’s the first thing I noticed about this spectacular photo.
@bryanhansel awesomeness!!
@bryanhansel From (very distant) memory, Grand Marais is fairly far north in MN, isn't it?
@BeBo yes. It's about a 30 minute drive away from Canada
@bryanhansel
Damn…great shot - kind of reminds me of the ‘70’s
@bryanhansel @derekvanvliet Aurorae everywhere, all at once!
@bryanhansel Numinous I hope to witness this, one day
@bryanhansel what time frame do they move and wave at? Seconds, minutes, hours? I have never seen them and the videos I have seen are always sped up.
@Urban_Hermit they were moving so fast and changing so fast during parts of this event that there was no way for the camera to capture all the structure. Sometimes they were pulsing in and out of view in fractions of a second
@bryanhansel Thank you, wow! I really need to remember this and make seeing the Northern Lights a life goal.
@bryanhansel I see Ultraman
@bryanhansel just checked it.
Minnesota has the same latitude as Central Europe, Minneapolis would be somewhere around Rome and Belgrade. I'm jealous now.
@mrgl they were seen and photographed in Iowa and even further south. So as far south as Istanbul.
@bryanhansel I wonder if they were visible in Europe as well. Unfortunately it was cloudy over here the whole last week.
@bryanhansel oh my!!! This is gorgeous!
@bryanhansel well captured!
@bryanhansel nature is quite a pro at generative art!
@noneuclideandreamer nature is only the paint; the photographer is the artist.
