Y'all saw this right? The deadline is tomorrow. I just went through all 11 steps to tell Meta to keep their grubby fingers off my data (and no, it wasn't a post declaring my data being my property). Not sure if the statement I used will apply to Canadian law, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Big thanks to Deborah for sharing the info.

There will always be those who shout that progressive legislation doesn't go far enough.

Folks who are one bad tweet away from insisting that incremental progress is somehow worse than no progress at all.

By setting an impossibly high bar for what constitutes "true" progressivism, the purists effectively create a circular firing squad, one in which no one can ever measure up to their exacting standards.

The only feeling I have about starship is dread.

They want to use that to launch batches of HUNDREDS of Starlinks at once. And guess where all those Starlinks will end up? The pieces that don't make it to the ground will end up in our upper atmosphere, screwing up the stratosphere, the ozone layer, who knows what else because SpaceX isn't required to do any environmental assessments of this.

Shit. Maybe a good time to post this essay I wrote yet again: theconversation.com/an-astrono

Musk and Dorsey want to turn every bar into a Nazi bar so they can force people to hang out and listen to them.

They can sense how much they suck as human beings, but their egos make them incapable of grappling with it. So they try to make it our problem instead.

"Those who have never seen Superior get an inadequate, even inaccurate idea, by hearing it spoken of as a 'lake,' and to those who have sailed over its vast extent the word sounds positively ludicrous. Though its waters are fresh and crystal, Superior is a sea. It breeds storms, and rain and fogs, like the sea. It is cold in mid-summer as the Atlantic. It is wild, masterful, and dreaded as the Black Sea." - Rev. George Grant, Ocean to Ocean, 1872
