WIth Reddit self-destructing, many have been wondering about alternatives on the Fediverse.

I do NOT recommend Lemmy. I have serious long-standing deep concerns about the developers, see here: mstdn.social/@feditips/1068350

As far as I know, nothing has changed since then and Lemmy's issues remain.

Alternatively there's Kbin (kbin.social & kbin.pub) which seems less problematic. Regarding cryptocurrency issue: codeberg.org/fediverse/fedipar

@feditips thanks for the heads up. I'm kind of new to this. But are other instances ran by other people within lemmy that might be better? For example know a couple of. Domains. One under the name

.world

I thought maybe they are like different mastodon servers?

Sorry if I'm not making much sense

@feditips@mstdn.social There are others like the instance from lemmy.blahaj.zone, Beehaw or Midwest.social (sticking with primarily English language examples).
