I can’t help but imagine how Indigenous peoples must view this.

Empathetic, caring, generous people whose state of mind is one of abundance will gladly help pull others up the ladder behind them, while selfish, fearful, “I got mine, screw you” people with an attitude of lack will spitefully pull the ladder up behind them.
In this case, especially, they’re likely to get smacked by their own callous boomerangs.
