BENNET: Don't insult the intelligence of the American people. Did Goldberg invite himself to the Signal thread?

RATCLIFFE: I don't know how he was invited. I've seen conflicting reports.

B: You're the CIA director! Why didn't you call out that he was present... this is just a normal day at the CIA

@GottaLaff

Ratcliffe: I'm not accountable, they're not accountable, no one is accountable so stop asking

Reminds me of my time in school. Who made this policy? Who can change it? Schools are microcosms of public life that serve as environments to practice within.

I went to schools that many very capable people worked very hard to improve. It only ever took a little pushing to find the person who could answer your question. Getting ahold of a regent is another story. They can be very private people.

@GottaLaff i'm gonna need a bucket of popcorn for this one. pretty sure one can't just randomly invite themselves to a signal thread

@GottaLaff Great push from Bennet.

Afraid, given the tribal responses to this episode, and everything in the last few months, that the phrase "don't insult the intelligence of the American people" doesn't mean what it used to not so long ago.

@GottaLaff (Are we calling it 'SignalGate' now?)

JFC, somebody call the Clown House and tell them some of their clowns are missing...

@GottaLaff@mstdn.social

Did Goldberg invite himself to the Signal thread?
Ah, yes: setting the trap with a question you already know the answer to.

Of course, since there's unlikely to be
any repercussions, be it directly from the horrendous gaff or any traps set in the gaff's aftermath, it doesn't really matter how well you set a trap.
