Really good advice. Esp abt utility of small acts…& ubiquitousness of snitches

I’d tell ppl to always remember some of those snitches are gonna be elected Dems & minstrel people of color. Be aware👇🏼
🧵via Tor Ekeland, lawyer:

My dad was tortured by Gestapo for 4 days & thrown in concentration camp for being in Norwegian Resistance. Growing up, he wd tell me things he learned in Resistance. I thought, I'm never going to need this stuff. Here's some of those things 1/

2/ First, you're never going to win a head on battle with an adversary that's got you outgunned. That's not the point of the Resistance. The point is to create friction, make it hard for your adversary to operate, to increase transaction costs.

2nd: resistance doesn't have to be a dramatic act. It can be a small act, like losing a sheet of paper, taking your time processing something, not serving someone in a restaurant. Small acts taken by thousands have big effects.

Laffy

3/ 3rd: use your privilege and access if you've got it. He and his buddies stole weapons from the Nazis by driving up with a truck to the weapons depot, speaking German, acting like it was a routine pick up, and driving away.

4th, and this is part of the third point really, sometimes the best way to do things is right out in the open. Because no one will believe something like what you're doing would be happening so blatantly. All good Social Engineers know this.

4/ (He misnumbered, so I will too)
6th: and this is a no brainer, operate in cells to limit damage to the resistance should they take you out. Limit the circulation of info to your cell, avoid writing things down and . . .

7th: be very careful with whom you trust. Snitches and compromised individuals are everywhere. My Dad was arrested because of a snitch. His friends weren't so lucky, the Gestapo machine gunned the cabin they were in without bothering to try and arrest them.

5/ 8: use the skills you have to contribute. Dad was an electrical engineer. When the Nazis imposed the death penalty for owning a radio (the British sent coded messages to the Resistance after BBC shows) he said he became the most popular guy in town.

6/ But everything's cool and we're not going to need to engage in any of this. We don't have a President who openly admires and coddles dictators while trashing our democratic allies. Our President has read the Constitution he's taken an oath to uphold, and so have his followers.

@GottaLaff I remember seeing "Red Dawn" (the original one, not the shitty remake!) and thinking about how horrible it would be to have to defend our country against foreign invaders - by violent resistance, if necessary - to become free again.

I never thought we'd have to contemplate this as the result of a Presidential election. 🤬

@jimthewhyguy @GottaLaff the invasion was always going to come from within....

@Lazarou @GottaLaff Yeah, come to think of it, the mayor of that Colorado town was the perfect model for so many Trump-supporting politicians today 🤔

@Lazarou
Well, invading a big power from the outside is a punishing exercise.

Sabotaging it from the inside is cheap.

Ask Putin, he should have the actual numbers lying around how much it costs to bring down the USA with spy methods.
@jimthewhyguy @GottaLaff

@jimthewhyguy @GottaLaff I remember seeing that as a kid. And also The Russians are Coming X2
Everything seems, no - is so absurd now

@jimthewhyguy @GottaLaff

I've been thinking about, "Red Dawn" for quit a while. Seems like when it occurs, Republicans will be at the landing zones with hot chocolate and steaming chicken noodle soup, for Putin's troops..

@jimthewhyguy Have you watched the original film since? It's mighty shitty all on its own :D

@GottaLaff

@jimthewhyguy
Sad but true, I agree.
Time of just protesting is over.
We have to organise, there are millions of us.
And remember 👇🏼

@ericschutte @jimthewhyguy Sign up for a self-defense class, we will need to fight. But keep your politics close, a lot of martial arts people are cryptofascist.

@jimthewhyguy @GottaLaff

I’ve never seen the Manchurian candidate, but this probably also applies

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @Tooden @GottaLaff Actually, the character of Johnny Iselin in that story is a close approximation of Trump, except Iselin was smarter in a Tommy Tuberville kinda way 🤣

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @jimthewhyguy @GottaLaff

If you do watch the Manchurian Candidate find the original. It's better.

Also the original Papillon is a great film.

@GottaLaff Maybe you guys won't need it. But maybe us in Europe will. Again. My dad told me some of this stuff too, but I dismissed it and forgot it. Things were never going to be that bad again, weren't they? And the thought that the USA wouldn't be our friend anymore and would threaten our Danish friends?

@martinlentink I think he was being sarcastic. We do need it.

@martinlentink @GottaLaff

The concept of stopping Trump is very simply stopped.

The execution of stopping Trump is very difficult.

With all the economical power The US has, the world has much more!
If countries were to work together for the greater good & not for only themselves Trump would be stopped withing 14-21 days.

Every trading partner with the US simply tells Trump. You put a tariff on any of us we ALL put a 100% tariff on every US import.

The US economy would be crippled.

@GottaLaff My dear friend was an "officer" in the French Resistance in WWII. He told me all kinds of stories. Including being the decoys when the German army came through and running like mad men through town in their Citron. They had the door blown off of the car. They finally escaped (or he wouldn't have lived to tell me) and all of their comrades did too by just walking away before the German army came back.

@GottaLaff Rotating social media groups that provide information while the others serve as decoys. Obfuscation is key to the resistance.

Unfortunately, not everyone can be saved. They learned this in WWII with breaking the code on Enigma, they had to let somethings happen to be able to use it for the greater good.

We need to be prepared.

@GottaLaff OMG indeed. I read the 2025 document and still am in shock.

@RegGuy Yeah, I had to stop reading

@GottaLaff Someone shared a Cliffs Notes version. I read that.

@Savvyhomestead No, I should have put CliffsNotes in quotes. It was to give the gist of what was being spelled out.

That one is useless. @GottaLaff

@RegGuy @GottaLaff The general reaction to Project 2025 was so bad that MAGA completely disavowed it. And now it is in effect.

@jhavok No, MAGA was 100% behind it, but the voters that pushed the felon into the White House were against it. Thus the felon disavowed it. @GottaLaff

@RegGuy @GottaLaff MAGA said it was all a hoax because, as you say, their voters reacted badly to it. And their voters were satisfied.

@jhavok MAGA are the people who think they want what he is doing to be done. MAGA are the people. Not the felon. The people who had a problem with it weren't his cult, they were the "undecideds" who pushed him over the top. @GottaLaff

@GottaLaff For those interested, he wrote about his time in this book called Rene's War. Available in paperback if you search the used markets or Kindle here. I have no idea where the money goes now as he is no longer with us. amazon.com/Renes-War-Memoirs-F

@GottaLaff if you are looking for the snitch Dems, the reps who voted for the Laken Riley act is a good place to start.

Also let's look at Dem senators who voted for Noem who are up for reelection in 2026, we should try to primary them

Jeanne Shaheen (NH)
Gary Peters (MI)

As for snitches, here are the Dems who voted for Noem and when they are up for reelection

John Fetterman (PA) 2028
Maggie Hassan (NH) 2028
Tim Kaine (VA) 2030
Andy Kim (NJ) 2030
Elissa Slotkin (MI) 2030

@manvsxerox @GottaLaff Fetterman is such a disappointment - absolutely ran as a progressive and is in fact a Republican lite

@sarahfarrant @manvsxerox @GottaLaff

Fetterman hasn't been so "Republican lite" lately. He is solidly with those brown lipped folks who made the trip to see dear leader.

@Savvyhomestead @sarahfarrant @GottaLaff Oh Fetterman is for sure the next Kyrsten Sinema, and like Sinema , we need to boot him out ASAP.

@manvsxerox
@GottaLaff
Cuellar won a primary against a more progressive candidate the last time he was elected. He's like Manchin, I don't think there's anyone to hold him to account.

@GottaLaff Saw a lot of likes and boosts on this one, but as someone who lives in Illlinois, does anyone have any help with how to actually do this.

None of these are in my district so I can't run (I will probably die of embarrassment trying to)

Also, liking and boosting is one thing. Acting is another.

@GottaLaff if you live in Illinois you can contact the Illinois Democratic Party here:

ildems.com/contact

Tell them of your dissatisfaction with these two senators and if you volunteer threaten to not volunteer unless they are primaried in the near future.

Spread the word around.

ildems.comContact – Democratic Party of Illinois

@GottaLaff update in this, Gary Peters primaried himself. So yay!

@GottaLaff This one resonates. The skills I’m applying here in Massachusetts(last year and now) are so humble: write postcards, canvass in NH, hold signs, make cookies for the candidates’ forum, contribute $, help some young Muslim refugees. But doing these things connects me to communities of activists (who like cookies).

@amarajf Because you rock. Thank you.

@GottaLaff Burner Phones are useful. Many people can’t afford them and even less will be able to afford them in a couple of months.

@GottaLaff very smart, leaving #5 as a placeholder for cell-specific info
😷

@GottaLaff

to paraphrase Hunter S Thompson

go straight for the felony because no one will believe you would do that
