@tomtom @Free_Press Marc 15th is a Hungarian national holiday, and the protests was against the current prime minister’s, Viktor Orbán’s regime. He and his party, which is called Fidesz rules the country since 2010 with more or less unlimited power, with political tools used by Putyin, Trump and other semi authoritarian leaders. Until this point the population was so fragmented that the majoritywas ether apolitical or frightened, but since last year’s February there is a big shift in the general political climate. At that time they pardoned a convicted child abuser despite their family first agenda. After that and a lot of other stuff a new political party created (its called Tisza) and since then, they are growing despite all of the effort from Fidesz against them. The picture is taken on Tisza’s gathering/protest.

@tomtom @Free_Press For comperison, here is a picture from the Fidesz event held on the same day.

@tomtom @Free_Press Im not sure about the exact numbers but im optimistic. There is two things to my optimism. Fidesz held there last couple of events in small squares (right now in front of the Magyar Nemzeti Museum, they closed the streets from Kálvin square to Asztoria) to be sure they can fill it and to give a sense of big number. Meanwhile Tisza fill the Andrasy street from Oktogon to Deák Ferenc square which is much bigger space. Other thing is that Fidesz transports its followers by rented buses, and the opposition supporters are usually came by train. And unfortunately there was a technical issue in Szolnok (one of a major satiation in the country) which prevented a lot of people from arriving in time to the Tisza event. So although the Tisza event would be bigger they managed to out number the Fidesz one.
