GUTLESS * INHUMAN
As one of the worst heat waves on record set in across the southern United States this summer, authorities and activists in South Texas found themselves embroiled in a mystery in this arid region near the border with Mexico.
Barrels of life-saving water that a human rights group had strategically placed for wayward migrants traveling on foot had vanished.
Apparently, right wing Christians are really the devil incarnate!

@Free_Press @the_Effekt Why don’t we see local “Christian” churches in Texas sponsoring these barrels with the church name on them? Whatever happened to helping the helpless?
@bhawthorne @Free_Press Honestly, I don't remember any point in my lifetime where I heard news of Churches helping the struggling.
@the_Effekt @Free_Press Same here. They always talk a good game about “Christian charity” but when it comes to helping refugees, suddenly it is all about shutting them out.
@Yoshi @Free_Press people love to say the violent Christians aren't the "real" Christians, but Christianity is literally a tool of imperialism so the exceptions to the rule are really the nonviolent ones.
@Free_Press They are not Christians. They aren't. Jesus' ministry was to the poor, the indigent. He admonished his followers to take in the foreigner in their midst. This is evil. This is the opposite of Jesus' teachings. We can say what we want about MAGA; it's not a Christian movement. If only we had a word to describe an anti-Christian movement.
@stevesplace @Free_Press Ghandi had a nice quip about Christ and Christians.
Every major denomination has an un-Christlike history. The larger they are, the worse the history.
At what point may we concede that hypocrisy is the norm?
@opendna @Free_Press I think we're there.
@stevesplace No Christian groups or individuals are claiming responsibility for removing the water stations. Nor does this article even accuse them. The OP just randomly declared it was Christians' fault.
@Free_Press I dont know man…. Looks like a bait barrel, similar known as a hunting technique
@Free_Press @lisamelton let me guess, the next step will be poisoning these?
@Free_Press I say again, "right wing Christian" is a contradiction in terms.
You can be one, or you can be the other, but you can't be both.
Anyone who claims to be both is lying. Quite likely they're mostly lying to themself, but lying they are.
@Free_Press Nobody hates like a good Christian.
as a native Texan, I stand against Abbott's trying to make up for the fact he has to sit in a wheelchair his whole life which is no one on the planet's fault. He is pissed at the world but taking it out on everyone in TEXAS. carry on
@Free_Press
I wish Christianity had the moral language to explain to conservative Christians why human life has value, even for people you consider to be lesser because of your arrogance.
@Free_Press @lisamelton The article does not say how or who has been dumping the barrels. I’m not a right-wing Christian and I also don’t like to see speculation against anyone represented as fact.
Meanwhile, the Bible says, in a couple of places, "If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink." Proverbs 25:21, Romans 12:20
And that's how you're supposed to treat an enemy, let alone somebody who never harmed you.
@Free_Press Award winning journalist? My arse.
