Burns Night is celebrated here at Folklore, Food & Fairytales. Important first step, catch your haggis: #haggis #RobertBurns
Technically it's a sausage and like White pudding (which is actually really a sausage) has oatmeal as a main ingredient.
IMPORTANT MANDATORY
neeps = turnip (called swede in someplaces & vice versa). The larger yellow flesh, not smaller white ones.
taties = potato
Some poetry.
OPTIONAL (heresy?)
Bagpipes, whisky (Irish one is whiskey) and kilts are optional. As actually is haggis or Burns's own poetry.
[Black pudding has pig's blood, white pudding shouldn't, but has pork fat]
@raymccarthy Don’t worry I have a real one in the fridge for later alongside what is possibly the worlds smallest swede and lots of potatoes for very buttery mash. We have a selection of whiskies from across the country to toast with.
@FairytalesFood
Legs on one side longer than the other to run around the hill/mountain. There are sunwise and widdershins versions.
