I've been looking into a data broker/data warehouse called #Snowflake. In particular they have a product called Data Clean Rooms allowing companies to share insights for behavioural targeting and marketing (https://www.snowflake.com/en/blog/how-disney-streaming-uses-the-data-cloud-for-data-governance-and-data-sharing/). Some of their customers include Microsoft, Disney, Netflix, Acxiom and Data Axle, among 9,000 other companies.
Data Axle claims to have realtime location and online status information on 280+ million Americans and Canadians plus thousands of data points on preferences, opinions, purchasing habits etc. Acxiom similarly has thousands of data points. They don't say where they get this information.
Big tech companies like Meta, Microsoft, Google, Netflix, Spotify etc have massive amounts of information on their users that are apparently traded.
The concept of data marketplaces and data rooms like Snowflake is astounding.
I'd be interested in any insights.
