Good news! We've officially added #Cloudflare #Workers support to the #Fedify roadmap. We've created a detailed issue to track our implementation plan: https://github.com/fedify-dev/fedify/issues/233.

The effort will be tackled in phases, including compatibility assessment, core adaptations for Workers' environment, KV store and message queue implementations, and finally integration with Cloudflare's ecosystem. This will be a substantial project that we'll break down into several sub-issues.

If you're interested in contributing to any specific aspect of Workers support, please comment on the main issue to coordinate efforts.

Background Fedify currently supports three JavaScript runtimes: Node.js, Bun, and Deno. However, there has been significant community demand for supporting Cloudflare Workers, a popular edge functi...

Well, it's even worse, you get lower quality and human #workers are going to lose more than a job, but their evolutionary biological development skills.

The brain doesn't learn much from automated recursion trash, in the DNA it's muted if not needed. Better learn by reading a book on biology.

#AI is not an invention, it's a data washing machine to award a bunch of business providers. It's not new either, it's basic IT knowledge to gather intel for military purposes.

Infosec ExchangeKris (@isotopp@infosec.exchange)# Klarna is not hiring back humans > Now, the company says it imagines an "Uber-type of setup" to fill their ranks, with gig workers logging in remotely to argue with customers from the comfort of their own homes. It is using "AI" as a tool to facilitate worker exploitation. Also, "AI" did not fail, it did work exactly as intended. https://futurism.com/klarna-openai-humans-ai-back

When #DevelopmentFinance Does More Harm than Good: Case of #Indorama Agro in #Uzbekistan
" #development #banks r still failing e very pple tey claim to serve.. 60–80 #workers were reportedly perform'g unpaid labor under threat of not rcv'g new contracts — an indicator of #forcedlabor.. ~10,000 #farmers who'd lost their livelihoods were still waiting for restoration. For #IndoramaAgro, it was a convenient exit. For #IFC & #EBRD, it was an abdication of #responsibility"

Quit fighting #corporations over the use of #AI. This is the seed of the destruction of #capitalism. They think they are going to make more #money. Maybe they will, for a time. But you can't replace #workers and expect to have someone to buy your products and services. The #economy is built on the backs of ordinary people. These assholes think they don't need the #workingclass. Good luck with that. Maybe the invisible hand of the market will buy their shit.

77 years of nakba: share this video and its 7 demands

Today, we mark the 77th anniversary of the Nakba — the planned mass ethnic cleansing of Indigenous Palestinians and destruction of hundreds of Palestinian towns and villages to establish Israel as a settler-colony based on Zionism, Jewish supremacy, and apartheid.

But that colonial project has never stopped. The Nakba isn’t history. It’s now.

Today, Palestinians are facing what Israeli leaders openly call the “Gaza Nakba” — an unprecedented genocide of extermination and forced displacement against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza.

Only mass, intersectional people power can end this.

So, on the 77th anniversary of the Nakba, watch our video and share 7 urgent demands from Palestinians for meaningful solidarity.

From campuses to city councils, from the streets to the largest trade unions, a global wave of solidarity is rising. Millions of justice activists, artists, workers, students, farmers, and human rights defenders are standing up for Palestinian liberation worldwide. The Palestinian-led BDS movement is reshaping how the world relates to Israel: not as a normal state, but as a regime of genocide and apartheid that must be dismantled to achieve freedom, justice and equality.

We speak to Ahmed Benchemsi, advocacy director for the Middle East and North Africa at Human Rights Watch, which has published a report on grave abuses committed on construction sites in Saudi Arabia. HRW said "scores of #migrant workers in Saudi Arabia die in gruesome yet avoidable workplace-related accidents, including falling from buildings, electrocution, and even decapitation".

Longer working hours have been linked to higher emissions, yet the climate movement seems reluctant to join the campaign for a four-day week—a potential strategic error given the social, health and climate benefits of working less.

My latest piece for Sower ⬇️ 🧵

Sower · Working less is the most underrated climate solutionFewer work hours can lower emissions. So why isn’t the climate movement fighting for our collective right to relax?

Well who'd have thought:

'workers are more likely to thrive when they have autonomy that feels like control rather than abandonment, and flexibility & clarity that allows for a good work-life balance. They also need security that offers certainty in the present – and confidence in the future'.

And if that sounds like a list of things that toxic management often degrades & removes from the workplace, you know what's behind the dissatisfaction of young workers

As Sarah O'Connor (FT) notes, the rising legal minimum wage (MW) has led to it now have some relevance for low paid (entry level) white collar jobs... partly because these jobs often demand extended hours for a fixed salary (driving down the effective hourly rate).

The HMRC (that enforces MW compliance) now has more white collar employers in its sights leading them to need better understanding of the hours staff actually work & real levels of pay!

So much for the graduate premium!
