Sketching people is the most rewarding form of sketching for me today: people are complex, time and materials are limited, which means I’ll simplify and try to turn what I see into a character. I knew this lady over socials and I shared a pic with her in the end, she responded well No matter how many times I sketch a new person, I always get a bit anxious about how they react

Painted some pebbles and seashells the other morning, used water brush because I forgot half of me gear at home (pencil, water bucket, brushes…) Then got ill in bed for the rest of the day. Slowly recovering

Went on a sketching date with a friend. Felt like this doggo was posing for me but I was being distracted by the conversation and didn’t finish one full sketch of it What a shame. At least the cup didn’t move

Life got intense (externally), but I managed to exercise my watercolour skills this morning and I’m glad I did.

Ok so at this point I’m doing anything to get back to painting even a little. My daily life feels like there is no space for that at all, but that’s never true. Just need to set the bar really low. In this case I took 5 min on the walk and used a water brush.

Sorry for the radio silence! A bit of unusual time because I don’t feel like sketching as I never feel relaxed with all the chores, duties and weather conditions. But on Thursday we had a planned in advance mertup with local sketch ladies, I went and it was like never changed! I made yet another sketch study of the same view and think I’ll make many many more as I can’t yet get what I want to get out of it but surely getting there... #dailysketching #sketchbook #watercoloursketch #mastoart
