[journal de terrain, semaine 10, Longwy] Une longue journée. <br>
Je déjeune à l’hôtel et part à mon rendez vous à Longwy-bas. Mon sac est lourd. Manque de chance, une fois arrivée le rendez vous est décalé à une prochaine fois. Je me retrouve bloquée avec mon sac trop lourd pour moi après 2 heures à marcher et tourner en rond et un temps plus qu’incertain. Je me réfugie à la mairie, Serge et Éric m’accueillent avec plaisir. J’avance un peu sur le projet puis je laisse une bonne partie de mes affaires pour aller faire des photos au golf (là où réside le haut fourneau).
En chemin je me laisse happer par le « sentier de senelle », nom d’une des 4 usines de sidérurgie. Mêlant bruit de voiture, forêt et oiseau, je prend du son tout en avançant sur le chemin.
Arrivé au haut fourneau, je remarque que quelque chose dans mon appareil déconne. Tout est sombre, comme si un filtre polarisant était activé. J’étais déjà à une bonne heure de marche de la mairie. Qu’à cela ne tienne, j’essaie tant bien que mal de faire des photographies avec l’histogramme. Merci à Ivan Mathie , Baptiste Cozzupoli et Clément Martin pour vos conseils. Je reste sur place 3 heures à découvrir de nouveaux endroits et vestiges incroyables de cette usine. De retour, je reprends mes affaires et me dirige vers le bus. En voulant prendre mon ticket, l’application ne fonctionne plus pour les cartes solidaires et bien sûr, les tarifs réduits ne sont pas donnés dans le car. Le chauffeur est super, comprend ma situation et m’attend le temps de prendre le billet en gare.
Malgré cette journée qui a mise mes nerfs à rude épreuve, je reste sous le charme de ces vestiges cachés du passé. <br>

[journal de terrain, Longwy, avec Nabila, semaine 5] Visite du quartier ouvrier de Gouraincourt

Antoine, Antonia et son compagnon nous ont donné rendez-vous sur la place devant l’Eglise du quartier Gouraincourt, quartier proche des anciennes usines de sidérurgie. Quartier d’habitation contrasté, avec d’une côté des rues remplies de jolies petites maisons ouvrières , et de l’autre de grandes maisons individuelles appartenant jadis aux ingénieurs, médecins, et, nous a t on dit, à l’ancien curé. Toute l’après-midi nous avons sillonné les rues, accompagné de leurs histoires, de leurs souvenirs et avec d’anciennes photographies amenées par Antonia.
Antoine nous a fait visiter sa magnifique maison, dans une rue ouvrière, en face des rails du chemin de fer. La couleur et les mosaïques rappellent son pays natal : le Portugal.
Le travail, le rythme, l’intégration, les engagements, les souvenirs, tout semble être lié, de près ou de loin, à ces énormes usines dont il ne reste plus aucune trace. Il est d’ailleurs inimaginable, même lorsque l’on se retrouve en face de ces lieux, d’imaginer qu’il y avait, il y a 30 ans à peine, des bâtiments et murs de fer qui recouvraient tous ces lieux.
J’aime particulièrement cette première photo. Entre l’usine qui n’existe plus derriere l’ipad, les mains d’antonia qui tiennent cette tablette, le reflet d’Antoine qui point du doigt cette usine, ce mur avec écrit Longwy Vivra, et mon reflet qui se depetre dans toute cette situation pour essayer de capter tout ça.
Je ne sais pas si nous pourrons utiliser tout l’enregistrement sonore, le vent coupe beaucoup leurs paroles.
Nous avons décidé, avec Nabila, de nous repartir les tâches. Une fois l’une s’occupe des images, l’autre de l’entretien, puis nous inversons pour la rencontre d’après.

Nous trouvons enfin le chemin pour descendre en bas des remparts. C’est l’occasion avec Nabila Halim de partir à la découverte d’autres coins de cette ville surprenante, et à la circulation plus qu’originale. Tout semble incroyable, chaque détail attire l’attention. Je me demande ce qu’il restera de ces émerveillements pour le projet d’exposition. À quel point nos rencontres avec les habitant•e•s teinteront ces premières découvertes.

We finally find the way to go down to the bottom of the ramparts. This is an opportunity for Nabila Halim and I to explore other corners of this surprising city, with its highly original traffic patterns. Everything seems incredible, and every detail catches your eye. I wonder what will be left of these marvels for the exhibition project. How much will our encounters with the local people shape these first discoveries? <br>

J’aime commencer une nouvelle résidence, rencontrer un lieu pour les premières fois, amorcer un nouveau terrain. Tout semble incroyable, nouveau. Incapable de différencier le quotidien, de l’anecdotique, de l’incroyable, tout est surprenant. La moindre trace est sujette à interprétation, la moindre trace est un indice (souvent trompeur) pour tenter de comprendre ce territoire nouveau.<br>

What do those who have seen the last blast furnace every day think? What legacy do we carry from a city? From the place we live in? Why is it impossible to get close to the blast furnace? Do the workers of Longwy’s émaux industry still feel connected to this heritage?<br>

[Zone 54 - 3/12] : L’enjeu de mes installations est de créer un univers à la fois sensible et cohérent, capable de s’adapter à chaque lieu de diffusion, du squat au musée. Les photographies sont dévoilées sous forme de séquences narratives sous différentes ambiances sonores (concert punk, discussion en appartement, manche…)<br>
Je tenais à remercier particulièrement le CRI des lumières qui a été la première institution à soutenir ce projet, ainsi que la MCL de Metz. Un grand merci à Spraylab-CCGP qui m’a accueilli en résidence afin d’expérimenter la forme « zone 54 : i love you ...k 0ff » qui a nécessité 2 semaines d’installation. Merci aussi à La Chapelle des Pixels, la Drac Grand Est ainsi que la bourse Regards sans limites, pour votre soutien.

[Zone 54 - 3/12] The goal of my installations is to create a universe that is both sensitive and coherent, capable of adapting to each exhibition space, from squats to museums. The photographs are presented as narrative sequences within different sound environments (punk concert, apartment discussion, street performance, etc.).<br>
Zone 54 is a dialogical photographic and sound documentary made between 2012 and 2017, in collaboration with Emy, Le fils, Gaëtan, Ingrid and Mike.<br>
