Boris Kretzinger<p>Played a bit of "Kings of Edom" on the Jaguar, published by Songbird Productions in 2021. A rogue-like game, it's not really my cup of tea, but I decided to give it a little more time than before now. And I actually managed to find two of the eleven crowns hidden in the game and saw some deeper dungeons. A nice little game that is indeed fun for an hour or so. I guess I will never play through this one, but I might sink a bit more time into this here and there. Anyone else gave this one a go for more than just a couple of minutes? <br><a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/atari" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>atari</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/atarijaguar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>atarijaguar</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/atarigamer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>atarigamer</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/vintagegaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vintagegaming</span></a></p>

Boris Kretzinger<p>Happy Friday everyone! I got another Jaguar console yesterday, a NTSC one with switch to 50Hz. The seller declared some problems with it (red screen more often than not) and I could see that some pins on the cartridge connector had been meddled with. So I veeeery carefully bent them, cleaned everything and what can I say: it just works without any problems. Will set it up this Saturday alongside a friend's Jaguar to play a hopefully somewhat multiplayer-fixed version of Doom over JagNet 🤩🙏🕹️. That will be fun! If you live near Frankfurt/Main, hope to see you at the Homecomputer Museum in Bad Homburg tomorrow!<br><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://nerdculture.de/@deanjimmy" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>deanjimmy</span></a></span> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://hessen.social/@thornpw" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>thornpw</span></a></span> </p><p><a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/atari" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>atari</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/atarijaguar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>atarijaguar</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/vintagegaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vintagegaming</span></a></p>

My name is Gordo (not really)<p>It''s always wild to me when I see regular everyday CRT TVs being sold for real actual money on Marketplace, with "TRINITRON" in all caps in the title. People are actually spending $100+ on the kinds of TVs that were in a large chunk of living rooms as recently as when the PS3 dropped.</p><p>I have to assume these are younger people getting into vintage gaming, reading online about how Trinitrons are the be-all-end-all of CRT TVs, but somebody really needs to tell them that these aren't the Kirby's Adventure of CRT technology; they were the best from the late 60s to the very end, and many are still kicking in basements and play rooms, ready to be given away for free to the first person who offers to carry them up the stairs.</p><p>If you are determining the value of an item from eBay listings, you are going to have a bad time. I promise you they made more than 12 copies of MUSHA back in the day. I'd be willing to bet they even mass produced them for a time.</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/vintagegaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vintagegaming</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/trinitron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>trinitron</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/crt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>crt</span></a></p>

Boris Kretzinger<p>They call it VecShelf, I call it Shelftrex. That's a thing, seemingly. It's basically a small piece of wood you put onto your Vectrex to but other stuff on top. Well, lightweight things, of course, not a Trinitron CRT or anything like that. Stumbled over it on the electronic bay and the description made me smile. Let me paraphrase: This is pretty unnecessary. You don't need this. Your life will not get better when you buy this. Well, somehow I disagree ... but nah, I won't buy it. And you should not as well.
