Curtis Carter<p>This includes chained <a href="https://floss.social/tags/useEffect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>useEffect</span></a> hooks in <a href="https://floss.social/tags/ReactJS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ReactJS</span></a> where each effect changes state that triggers the next useEffect. At least in those cases it tends to all happen in one place</p>

Thomas Michael Semmler<p>So, you're fetching data with <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/useEffect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>useEffect</span></a> and you need to make a state update to set an error, when something along the line of the fetch went wrong. But the linter complains that you now need to include the error state variable in its dependency array. But now, when there is an error, it will run in a loop because it runs whenever the error state var is updated, which it does when there is an error.</p><p>What is the intended pattern here? <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/react" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>react</span></a> <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/javascript" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>javascript</span></a> <a href="https://indieweb.social/tags/webdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>webdev</span></a></p>

В этой статье мы рассмотрим, как неправильное разделение ответственности может негативно сказаться на ваших компонентах, и какие подходы помогут избежать подобных проблем.</p><p><a href="https://habr.com/ru/articles/796143/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">habr.com/ru/articles/796143/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://zhub.link/tags/useeffect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>useeffect</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/reactquery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>reactquery</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/react" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>react</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/react_hooks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>react_hooks</span></a> <a href="https://zhub.link/tags/javascript" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>javascript</span></a></p>
Chris Broome<p>Alright, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/React" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>React</span></a>, you win this round, but I’ll be back tomorrow to beat my head against the desk for this damn <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/useEffect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>useEffect</span></a> bullshit.</p>
crucifixGlitch<p>Literally spent about a couple hours bashing my head against why I had duplicate rows when parsing the database data. I thought I wasn't using useEffect() correctly and started learning about its return value (cleanup) function.</p><p>Just asked myself if it might be possible to accomplish my goal without useEffect(). Fixed the issue by deleting like 3 lines of code... lol. 🤦 <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/useEffect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>useEffect</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/react" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>react</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/webdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>webdev</span></a></p>
