‘Parts of the media and political class know mass death in Gaza cannot be obscured for much longer, not even after Israel has barred foreign journalists from the enclave and murdered most of the Palestinian journalists trying to record the genocide.
Cynical political and media actors are trying to get in their excuses before it is too late to show remorse.‘

Middle East EyeWhy the wall of silence on the Gaza genocide is finally starting to crackAs Israel unveils its final genocide push, and mass death from starvation looms in Gaza, western media and politicians are tentatively starting to speak up

"the BBC behaves much like Starmer’s government: appeasing critics on the right and far right, while suppressing the left. In doing so, it undermines its own survival. When it faces an existential crisis, as both Labour and the BBC might in 2029, who will defend it? The right – and the plutocrats the right exists to champion – want it gone, while the left now sees it as a hostile force. It is appeasing itself to death."

The Guardian · The BBC is utterly beholden to the right. Why else would it fear an Evan Davis podcast about heat pumps?By George Monbiot

"The term silent majority seems particularly apposite when it comes to public debate in the UK. The print media has always been heavily skewed to the right, but the broadcast media has tried to be impartial. Impartiality in practice has focused on being even handed between the two main political parties. When the two main parties promote socially conservative policies and argue against tax increases to improve public service provision, that can mean that a social liberal and economic centre or left point of view struggles to get much airtime. The BBC's obession with Nigel Farage also does not help."

Journalists often need to speak to experts for their stories. Money traditionally doesn't change hands — the expert, whether they're a political scientist or a dermatologist, builds their media profile, while the journo gets the quotes they need. But according to the Press Gazette, there are now some agencies that charge brand PRs to make those connections, and the "experts" they are quoting may be AI, rather than real people. "Laura Purkess, consumer features editor and consumer champion for The Sun, says she receives what appears to be AI-written copy in large batches from one particular PR following Responsesource requests. The PR has no surname or agency name and frequently posts three or more ready-written comments on virtually any subject within less than an hour of the request being posted."

So I've seen Josh Howie 'apologised' on air to 'LGB' people, and as someone who decided to see what rhetoric GB News was going to be pumping out - and hardly do now as everything gets more horrific - I've seen him say that LGBTQ+ people include paedophiles on at least one occasion well before this time.

As there is so much more content, you have to ask just how much more of this agitprop are he and the rest of them there doing that no-one catches? This is no mistake.
