Rīx and Badger showing y’all how they share good

Please don't force me to separate our loving family.

We need each other.

And I need them all, most of all. Because they are all I have.

Picture this: Rīx and Badger, my two furry companions, are perched on their cat tree like a pair of feline royalty. Rīx, sleek and black as midnight, sits confidently on the highest platform, his long tail draped elegantly behind him. Below him, Badger, with his tuxedo-like coat and curious expression, claims the lower perch. The soft grey of the cat tree contrasts beautifully with their fur, and the scene feels like a quiet moment of shared understanding between these two. They seem to say, “This is our kingdom, and we rule it together.”

Here they are again: Rīx and Badger on their well-loved cat tree. This time, Rīx has stretched out on the top perch with one paw dangling lazily over the edge, his piercing eyes watching everything with calm authority. Rīx, my sleek black shadow with eyes that seem to hold the mysteries of the universe, lounges effortlessly on the top perch. His tail cascades down like a silky waterfall, and he’s turned his gaze towards me, as if to say, “Yes, human? You may proceed.” Badger, my tuxedoed confidant with his dramatic white bib and perpetually curious expression, sits below him on the next level. He’s perched perfectly upright, his fluffy tail curled neatly around him like he’s posing for a royal portrait.
The lighting is soft and warm, casting a gentle glow on their fur. The wall behind them is plain, letting their striking features take centre stage. What’s heartwarming is how they share this space so harmoniously – Rīx above, surveying his kingdom, and Badger below, ever the attentive deputy. They’re a picture of balance and companionship.

It’s a moment that makes you pause and smile – two very different personalities sharing one space so beautifully. You can almost hear Rīx saying, “I’ll keep watch from up here,” while Badger replies with a playful flick of his tail, “Don’t worry, I’ve got things covered down here.”
