Re-discovering this song in 2025, it got stuck on repeat in my head and wouldn't leave. Needs must, so I made my own cover of it. A wee bit shaky on several fronts, but hey, punk rock. ;-)

Wonderful performer and writer of some of the best protest songs of my lifetime - really so many Tom Robinson Band gigs coming up in 2024 that I want to be at.

Tonight’s #vinyl #tomrobinsonband #tomrobinson debut album Power In The Darkness (1978) double album US pressing. Full of power rock anthems played with great panache from a tight four piece. The lyrics reflect the politics of the time but in the case of the title track it could apply to the UK 
today. The band disagreed with each other and this line up never made another album. Saw them live around this time and they were a phenomenal act
Back on my Pride Month musical memory trip after my 48 hour health hiatus: Tom Robinson's 1978 protest song about queer oppression in the UK, dripping with admirably-expressed rage and sarcasm.
