Epilog, part two...

Not shared: Photos of my son wearing the oversized concert sweatshirt that I got for him. I used to buy a concert t-shirt at every one that I went to, as a wearable souvenir. This isn’t his first souvenir or clothes from a concert, but hopefully it’ll be a link in a long chain. #TheFlamingLips #Paris #concert

Epilog, part one...

I had the pleasure of meeting @ellouis
and his family after the show. We’d only been a couple of meters apart the entire time!

I owe a _huge_ thanks to him, because it was thanks to his posting about this concert that I’d found out about it. Everything about this evening was serendipitous (a word that I’d like to imagine would be among Wayne Coyne’s favorites – but I’m biased, since it’s one of mine). #TheFlamingLips #Paris #concert

After a short break, the band returned for the second half of the show. This was filled with fan-favorites (and band-favorites?) like “She Don’t Use Jelly” and “Waitin’ For a Superman”.

I enjoyed all of the songs that they’d picked, but it was the surprise (to me) inclusion of “The Golden Path” that was the big standout. I’d only ever thought of it as a Wayne Coyne collaboration with The Chemical Brothers, so it was a happy surprise for me. #TheFlamingLips #Paris #concert

I had an amazing evening last night seeing The Flaming Lips live at Le Trianon (a mid-sized concert hall in Paris).

They rarely tour, so not only did I have the good fortune of seeing them in Paris, but for this tour they played the entirety of “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots” from beginning to end.

That’s my favorite album of theirs, and I got to share the experience with my music-loving son, who just graduated from high school. A perfect way to send him off. #TheFlamingLips #Paris #concert
