royal<p>I bring in my car to the dealership for two services:<br>1 - A recall (this requires the dealer)<br>2 - an oil and filter change (I could get this done anywhere, but want to combine the visit).</p><p>The service department identifies almost four thousand dollars of additional service they want to perform. Some small fraction of it is necessary.</p><p>Then I get a call from the dealership wanting to buy my car. I tell them no. They persist. I tell them no. They persist. I hang up.</p><p>This is why people don't like going to the <del>dealership</del> stealership ! Respect your customers and they will love you. Treat them like this? It’s always just to drop off the vehicle, but never to do the work. For routine maintenance or simple repairs or recalls like software updates or anything slated for less than 1.5 hours of shop time - the appointment time should be the time the work is performed. Instead they set the time to drop the vehicle and it will sit in their lot for 6 hours before they start the work.
