valkraider :verified:<p>Yay! I found an independent guy to work on my <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Triumph" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Triumph</span></a> which is good because the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/TriumphMotorcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TriumphMotorcycles</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Stealership" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Stealership</span></a> has a 200 to 400 mile monopoly in this part of the US (depending on where you live) and the owners are greedy bastards with terrible <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/CustomerService" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CustomerService</span></a> priorities. (And the monopoly *could* potentially be even more far-reaching for some people as the same owners own several across the western US). I had considered moving to a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/HarleyPanAmerica" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>HarleyPanAmerica</span></a> just for more dealership <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/competition" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>competition</span></a>.</p>
valkraider :verified:<p>I hate how <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Dealerships" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dealerships</span></a> schedule appointments. It’s always just to drop off the vehicle, but never to do the work. For routine maintenance or simple repairs or recalls like software updates or anything slated for less than 1.5 hours of shop time - the appointment time should be the time the work is performed. Instead they set the time to drop the vehicle and it will sit in their lot for 6 hours before they start the work. It’s a major hassle. <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/stealership" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>stealership</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AutoDealer" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AutoDealer</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/CarDealer" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CarDealer</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/stealerships" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>stealerships</span></a></p>
valkraider :verified:<p>My local <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/motorcycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>motorcycle</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/stealership" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>stealership</span></a> and new owners: a thread. Their service prices are already too high. I do my own oil changes since they’re easy, but leave more difficult stuff to them. At an event I once asked them to reset my service indicator, which takes 3 minutes to do with their tool - and they gave me a bunch of grief. So I went inside to buy an extremely overpriced TShirt to at least give them some business and they have a new 3% fee for credit card uses. (Continued ➡️)</p>
