AlisonGetting close to being done with this cherry spoon, and I'm trying to finish it knife and burnisher only, no sandpaper. AlisonAlso started this cherry wood spoon, it will have a shallow bowl. Trying to carve off all the pieces that don't feel like a spoon. KneshSpent an afternoon forging a carving knife from a broken old file. It got an apricot wood handle and a birchbark slip cover. Kay ElbyTried to split wood for spoons today but the logs are big and my noodle arms are not up to the task. So I guess my strategy is to bash at it ineffectively a few times a week until my arms are not noodles anymore.
