Beautiful Petra, a sight to behold both day and night. Living testament to the silk road and bedouin culture. A tourist trap - and home to the bedouins.
When I visited in 2016 we were kindly invited by the bedouins to stay a night in one of the caves. An experience I will always cherish and remember.

A few years ago I set out to what turned out to be the most incredible trip along the silk road from the deserts of Jordan till the mega cities of China.
Through all countries and cultures I was humbled by the kindness and hospitality of the people and awestruck by the spectacular scenery of deserts and mountains. Thanks to each and every person I met along the way. I will be back.

I think it is so trick that the most famous #motorcycle in the world right now is called ‘Frankie’ and that its rider is a globe trotting Dutch (or maybe Norwegian) woman named Nora li (or maybe Runa). If you have no idea what I’m talking about, check out ‘Itchy Boots’ channel on YouTube. I assert Frankie’s top-dog #moto status based on the number of views her videos get, which attests to her sizable army of followers. I even watched her hour-long movie documenting her solo journey from the far southern tip of South America to the far northern tip of Alaska. Sometimes dragging the pulka requires a bit of elbow grease, stamina, and patience. During my six-week solo winter hike, there were a few occasions where the snow was so soft that I had to wade through it. When this happens and you're alone, often the easiest way to move is to first open the path some distance ahead, ski back to your pulka, bring it with you, and then repeat. This means you cover three times the distance you would if the snow could carry your weight and you could ski on the top layer.
