Vessel: Excellent Season 5 finale. It builds up to Zod's arrival perfectly, with the teases of Lex acting strangely and suddenly gaining Clark's powers. When Zod eventually takes over Lex's body, it's a real crowd-pleasing moment in the Smallville series. The episode also ends on a hell of a cliffhanger, with Clark impersonated in the Phantom Zone. #Smallville

Oracle: Very strong episode, concerning Clark and Martha seemingly being visited by Jonathan from beyond the grave. It leads to some excellent character moments, although of course it doesn't actually turn out to be Jonathan. The cliffhanger is amazing also, teasing the introduction of Zod. #Smallville

Fade: A decent story, if nothing remarkable. Graham is a good one-off villain, a man who can turn invisible who tries to pull off various 'favours' for Clark after he saves his life. It's mostly an exploration of the love triangle between Clark, Lana, and Lex, with Clark finally learning that Lana and Lex are together. #Smallville

Mercy: Such a fantastic episode, concerning Lionel being placed through horrific trials by a man in a mask. It shows a new side to him, as someone who cares deeply about Martha, and the fact he doesn't even reveal Clark's secret to Lex really shows his loyalty to her. #Smallville

Void: This is a really dark episode, concerning Lana taking drugs that give you a near death experience where you meet your loved ones. There's some great character work here, with Lana, Lex, and Clark taking the drug and meeting their dead parents. #Smallville

Cyborg: An excellent origin for the titular DC hero. Victor's story is so tragic, and similar to Clark's, in that his parents are also dead, and he is scared to tell his partner his secret because he is worried she will view him differently.

Lionel knowing Clark is Kal-El and deleting his copy of the security footage to keep his secret is interesting. Is Lionel more trustworthy than he seems? #Smallville
