I live in #Texas. My #senators are #TedCruz and #JohnCornyn. My governor is #GregAbbott etc.

Yet, #KamalaHarris got more votes in the state of Texas than she did in the state of #NewYork.

There are not any states where she got zero votes.

All state and national boundaries are imposed. I don't live in a red state because I chose to live in a red state; I live in a red state because that's where the boundaries are drawn.

Holding town halls typically falls to Representatives, but because many Republicans are not holding town halls, I am asking you to hold them in Republican-leaning parts of the state. Do it jointly with the local Representative. If they don't show up, hold it without them.

Your messages must be clear -- This Republican Administration is not working for the people, they are working for the billionaires. Talk about their specific policies that are hurting ordinary Americans, without asking for any comparable "belt-tightening" from millionaires and billionaires. Talk one-on-one with the farmers who depend on undocumented workers to do the jobs that American citizens don't want to take. Learn from them what they want to see in a guest worker program so that they have the hard workers they need to stay in business and keep us fed.

Talk about specific policies you want to implement that would help Republican-leaning voters. Make it personal and make it specific.

Make this a regular part of your schedule. Call into local radio stations in Republican parts of the state to share your views. Show up at the local VFW, the Kiwanis, the Rotaries. When you can't be there in person, send your staffers so that the local Republican-leaning parts of the state know that you are listening to their views.

If you come after Dick Durbin and Jeanne Shaheen, you're an idiot. These are the Democrats who engaged with pro-democracy activists from #Belarus long before the protests of 2020 hit the major news, and are still engaging long after the news cycle has moved on. These two are my gold standard of #Senators who know what they are doing, hire the best staff and then listen to them, and care deeply about people.

If they are the ones who chose to back #Schumer, it was the right thing to do. Period.
