A week ago I participated in the tournament Pardubický meč organised by Pardubice Swordplay Association. It was certainly the biggest longsword tournament I have ever participated in. I managed to win all 5 fights in my pool, which resulted in 3/4th place after the pool phase. In the elimination I first met Martin Noga who has given me a really tough fight, but I was the luckier one and won. Then I should have fenced with Filip Višňovský, but he had to drop out due to injury

, so I got Jan Beneš instead whom I managed to beat with a clean score. Then the difficulty started rising dramatically. In the third round I met Mateusz Szudrawski whom I managed to beat, but it was not an easy fight. In the 1/4 finals I met Miroslav Medvíď, who is an excellent fencer, fast, vigorous, and precise. It did not look well for me, but in the end I managed to keep my calm and came out victorious. In the 1/2 finals I met Mikołaj Kołodziej, so I got a chance for a revenge for Black Horns Cup finals. Tactics-wise, this was probably my favourite fight of the tournament, as I was able to take the lesson from BHC and did not do the same mistakes, and managed to win the fight thanks to that. So, I somehow got into the finals, where I met none other than Antoni Olbrychski. I did not manage to beat him, but it went far better than I thought it could, and I lost by the slimmest of margins 6:7.
However, as happy as I am to have won silver in such a big and skill-packed tournament, I'm even more happy for the silver of our Madla Voleková in the ladies' category. As her coach (a bit during our regular training, and 100% on the spot at the tournament), it is super rewarding to see her success, and be part of it. Madla, you rock!
Last but not least, thanks to all of SHŠ Krkavci who were there and gave me and each other an invaluable support. There would have been no such success without them.
