For #MeerMittwoch #SeaWednesday: a boat, two birds, and a whole lot of ocean.

Two birds soar over the ocean at Poplar Beach in Half Moon Bay. There's a boat out on the water, too — it looks small and you can't see any detail. We're gazing out above and through a wood fence or sorts with upright posts and two boards between the posts. The sea is pretty calm and the day is mostly gray. In the distance you can see the radar installation at Pillar Point Harbor, shrouded in fog.

For #MeerMittwoch here's part of Portsmouth Harbour, north of the dockyard and continental ferry port, taken in Tipner with views across the calm water towards Portchester and Gosport.

A portrait view looking across very calm water from a few metres back on a shallow beach of very small shingle. There is hazy cloud covering much of the sky but warm blue shows through at the top. On the horizon there is low land stretching across. Eight birds swim in the shallows of the water just off the beach area, all passing from left to right. Anchored a dozen or more metres back from that is a small sailboat with the sail on its single tall mast furled up and covered just above the low cabin that takes up most of the vessel's top. A couple of buoys are in front and behind the boat. A reflection of the mast stretches across the water towards us, not quite reaching the shoreline against the shingle.
