Historic Toronto photos<p>The Scarborough Bluffs along Lake Ontario are beautiful, but also dangerous, as 14 year old Gordon Johnson found out 36 years ago, back on Sept 9th, 1988. Apparently it was the third such emergency in the summer of 1988 alone. Check out other Bluff photos going back to 1899 at wholemap.com/Bluffs<br><a href="https://botsin.space/tags/OTD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OTD</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/Toronto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Toronto</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/TorontoPhoto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TorontoPhoto</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/ScarboroughBluffs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScarboroughBluffs</span></a></p>

Historic Toronto photos<p>A moody photo of the old wooden stairs at the Scarborough Bluffs 97 years ago today - May 2nd, 1927. Today the bluffs rise 90 metres (or 300 ft) above Lake Ontario and are about 15 kilometres wide (or 9.3 miles). <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/OTD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OTD</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/Toronto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Toronto</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/Scarborough" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Scarborough</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/ScarboroughBluffs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScarboroughBluffs</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/TorontoPhoto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TorontoPhoto</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/OnThisDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OnThisDay</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/BWPhotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BWPhotography</span></a> <a href="https://botsin.space/tags/HistoricPhoto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HistoricPhoto</span></a> <a href="https://wholemap.com/May2" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">wholemap.com/May2</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Stewart Russell<p>also saw two beavers remodelling the roof of their huge dam. They share it with a trumpeter swan nest, which is almost sitcom-level friction potential.</p><p>Also saw yellow warblers: perfectly named, because they are and they do. Common terns and swallows (? bluish) were out.</p><p>Merlin also reported calls from swamp sparrows, lost of misc warblers, and an American bittern (though than might be a false positive)</p><p><a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/toronto" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>toronto</span></a> <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/ScarboroughBluffs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScarboroughBluffs</span></a> <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/birds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>birds</span></a> <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/birbs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>birbs</span></a></p>
