Definitiv ein unterstützenswertes Produkt/Unternehmen! Und auf jeden Fall ein weiterer Schritt weg von der amerikanischen Dominanz, denn auch ent-googletes Android bleibt Android: der größte Teil, auch des Open Source-Codes, kommt letztlich doch von Google und die tun einiges um auch die Benutzer solcher Systeme doch wieder in ihre Einflusssphäre zu ziehen.

I'm finally almost ready to release the first alpha¹ version of my social media meta-client for Sailfish OS.

It has themes!

I initially planned this for last January but I had some delays.

There's also an Android package but that might bring too many issues at once.

Now I have to finish some side-quests like a website and a Qt license since this isn't open-source.

So, after about a month of slow and gradual changes to my phone ecosystem (and after accepting the quite unfortunate limitation of having to rely on my work phone for the national eID in Sweden: "BankID", due to missing NFC): I'm now ready to try out the actual switch from iPhone to #sailfishos #linuxPhone from #jolla as my 'main driver' phone.

Let's see how it goes! 😄

Any #SailfishOS users out here know how to make #StreetComplete usable again by either disabling the any-audio-interrupting plop sounds or teaching SailfishOS to just keep playing audio if another app makes sound?

Sailfish OS Forum · Disabling Plop/Touch sounds in StreetCompleteStreetComplete is a very cool app that makes adding data to OpenStreetMap quite fun. However, on SailfishOS there is one thing that makes it super annoying to use: Whenever one fulfils a task / answers a question, the icon vanishes with a PLOP sound, which then stops any other audio such ss the Sailfish media player. So my journey to de big tech my life has taken the next step, I have ordered a Fairphone 5 with Murena /e/OS. My iPhone has died after I de Appled all my services by moving to a combination of Synology NAS and Proton services.

I will keep sharing the experience, my experiment with SailfishOS on a C2 has been unworkable as a daily driver but keeping it alongside my main phone for now.
