Portal VallecasHallados restos de animales primitivos de hace 14 millones de años en el polígono de La Atalayuela 🦣⛏️📏🧑‍🔬El Ayuntamiento de Madrid ha encontrado un yacimiento con restos de elefantes primitivos en el transcurso de las obras del nuevo centro logístico de bomberos que el Consistorio está construyendo en el polígono de La Atalayuela, en el distrito de Villa de Vallecas.Estas obras se iniciaron en noviembre del año pasado y tras este descubrimiento, un equipo de ocho paleontólogos y arqueólogos han localizado varios ejemplares de mastodontes, rinocerontes, carnívoros, tortugas e infinidad de especies, muchas de ellas extintas.Los fósiles han sido depositados en el Museo Arqueológico Regional de la Comunidad de Madrid, en Alcalá de Henares, donde serán conservados.
