It’s definitely a “prestige” upgrade in this configuration as a RamDisk, but I have some plans for it in the future. #retrocomputing I’m still trying to work out why the boot up time during SCSI probing is so long.

Alexander Bochmann
Just because I’ve had it in my hands while cleaning up: A BioNet 100 ACSI node for the Atari ST/TT. BioNet was a TCP/IP-based LAN solition with file sharing, printing (and I think some simple messaging). They had a dedicated file server software, though that a MS-DOS application.

Back when I was working in an Atari shop in the 1990s, our inventory and cash register system ran on this network. I think a Biodata training was my first deeper contact with TCP/IP networks?

These used to be kind-of-supported in Linux/m68k and NetBSD/atari, though extremely slow thanks to ACSI polling. No idea if I still have a power supply.

#atari #retrocomputing

penguin42
I'm going to recap the LCD DC-DC in my Epson HX-20; It's pretty dim, especially when the battery voltage is what it should be; looking at the vLCD with a scope, it's getting nowhere near a smoothish 7v like the TmH says it should be. And at least one of the 10uF caps (c6) on it looks grungy at the bottom.

#retrocomputing
