CliffSad to see the news of Dave Parker passing away yesterday. This was really the guy who made me become a Pittsburgh Pirates fan at the age of 7 or so. Something about him struck me as a young kid and he was always my "favorite player" for the Pirates. Plus he wore black and gold, which I absolutely loved as a young kid, and would eventually go on to graduate high school from Klein Oak, which had black and gold as our colors!I'm so glad he was finally elected into the MLB Hall Of Fame. We had no time to prepare nor did we have time for goodbyes. Although we feel the worst is now over, when it hits you the pain is still as sharp and intense as it was when we received the fateful phone call from the vet on duty, during the small hours of Thursday the 12th. Our hearts broke then, and only vast expanses of time will ever heal this unfathomable loss. You were an irreplaceable part of our lives. You and your many feline antics will remembered until the end of days. Writing this was even harder than I expected and I'll conclude just by thanking you of all these eleven years of joy and close companionship. We will seek consolation in the fact that your earthly pains are now over.
