A quotation from Judith Martin

The invention of the teenager was a mistake, in Miss Manners’ opinion. […] Once you identify a period of life in which people have few restrictions and, at the same time, few responsibilities — they get to stay out late but don’t have to pay taxes — naturally nobody wants to live any other way.

They All Signed the “Harper’s” Letter. Where Are They Now? | The Nation thenation.com/article/society/

That is an excellent question. And the answer is right in the picture below 👇

Basically, they are simply living entranched in their place of #priviledges and confusing #FreedomOfSpeech with the liberty of saying anything without having to face consequences nor being held accountable. They want the power, not the #responsibilities And anyone reminding them of that is considered an enemy.

Good morning. 💮💮💮

16 May 2025

My wife's phone rang a little after five this morning. One of her sisters, on her way to work, had gotten frightened by someone following too closely. As luck would have it, I was already awake—though I woke up even more after that call. I got up, settled into my recliner, and drifted back to sleep, just like in the old days. Not too old, though. If I went back more than a couple of years, I’d have been driving to work at ‘0 Dark Thirty’ in the morning. I remember those days well—commitments, worries, schedules, responsibilities. Of course, there are still responsibilities, but at least now, I don’t have to be anywhere except where I already am.

Hmmm… I do need some gas for the lawn mower. I’ll get around to it.

🧩 Example: Law as a Natural Transformation

Imagine a 2-functor from:

Category of individual acts and desires (personal logic, rights)

To category of socially accepted actions (legal logic, responsibilities)

Then a natural transformation encodes:

How a society translates individual reasoning into enforceable action.

How law binds or restricts certain inferences while preserving structure (naturality condition).

That is, this commutes if η is natural — that is, doing something and then applying law is the same as applying law first and doing the translated thing.

--- oops, ChatGPT doesn't know about asking for permission vs forgiveness; I mean, it *should* commute, except for that pesky time asymmetry where you can't take back what you did. --- more context is needed ---

This models ethics, cultural norms, or constitutional constraints as natural transformations that preserve reasoning across systems.

This is why we need Judges. It's not an easy job, respect them

"Concerned at the UK Government’s intentions to review the #HumanRights framework and #JudicialReview we have come together to state:

While every system could be improved, and protecting #rights and #freedoms for all is a balancing act, our #HumanRightsAct is a proportionate and well-drafted protection for the fundamental #liberties and #responsibilities of everyone in this country.

The Act guarantees the rights to #FreeSpeech and expression, to life, to #liberty, to security, to privacy, to assembly, and to #FreedomOfReligion or belief. It prohibits torture and guarantees fair trials and the #RuleOfLaw.

Judicial review is an indispensable mechanism for individuals to assert those rights and freedoms against the power of the state." humanrightsact.org.uk/

If things frustrate and depress you in life, that is a sign you need to step back and realize that you are the one frustrating and depressing yourself with things.

Don't give those things your power. Take your empowerment back view and your life from the boundaries of your being. Which might mean creating more boundaries. Yes things can be frustrating and depressing but we don't need to take those things on us.

Our abilities of response, our responsibilities, of how we respond to life either allows us the boundaries of empowerment or serves our life to the discord.

You have so much more power than you may comprehend - the thing is many are giving that power to all they dont want in life.
