Heute: Eine mehrfach für gute Lehre ausgezeichnete #Informatik #Professorin auf dem Podium einer Veranstaltung warnt in ihrem Vortrag davor, dass in Kürze #Meta die über #WhatsApp öffentlich geteilten Daten für das Training von #KI nutzt, wenn man nicht bis 26.05. widerspricht.
Irgendein Mann aus dem Publikum unterbricht sie und widerspricht laut: „Das geht gar nicht! WhatsApp ist doch Ende-zu-Ende verschlüsselt!“
„Öffentlich“ , sie hat „öffentlich“ gesagt!
Hätte er sie auch vor allen Anwesenden unterbrochen und widersprochen, wenn sie ein „er“ gewesen wäre?

@wolf Das ist eben das Problem: Die allermeisten Mastodon-Nutzer wissen annähernd nichts darüber, inwiefern Mastodon anders ist als 𝕏, und sie haben immer noch "Twitter on the brain". Aber funktioniert ja für sie.
Im Grunde müßte man Millionen Mastodon-Nutzer jeweils einzeln beim Patschehändchen nehmen, ihnen Mastodon ganz speziell und das Fediverse allgemein Stück für Stück erklären in einem Kurs, der zwei Wochen dauert oder so, und hinterher das vermittelte Wissen abfragen, ob sie das auch alles wirklich gelernt, behalten und verinnerlicht haben.
Aber geschätzt jeder vierte würde das empfinden als übergriffiges Reply Guying, Mansplaining und Fedisplaining. Als würden sie irgendwas falsch machen. (Tun sie, streiten sie aber vehement ab. Wenn, dann machen alle anderen es falsch.)

Someone explain the parameters for the 'reply guy' label because I've seen it used to justify closed-mindedness more than any other reason. It seems (just my opinion) like it's used to describe anyone who replies in any way that isn't immediately agreeable or complimentary to the OP. Like, you do realize you're on a public forum, right? It's a place to put your thoughts out into the world and get feedback on them. Speaking of, I'd like some feedback on this post.

This morning on instagram, I watched a short video made by a Vietnamese woman explaining how tariffs (46% for Vietnam) would hurt her business.
The comments on her informative post were off the charts! It was as if every incel reply guy glanced at her Asian features and decided it was time to take her down.
It’s shameful that we have allowed such a noxious culture to spread far and wide.
