The Mystic Moods Orchestra – Highway One

I genuinely debated whether I was even going to post this one. First, I forgot how it ended up in my collection, and relatively recently. Looking at my Discogs, I found that it was a gift from Forever Changes, no doubt something I pulled from the dollar bin, possibly for my artist wife's use in a project on the patriarchy. More:

Less than £2.70 a piece?

🤔

"He added: "I rifled through a few boxes and then I took 200 photos on my first recce to try to get a grip on what there was.
I spent the next three nights just studying the spines of the records in the photos and it became clear what an amazing Aladdin's cave of music we had found there."

I bet you did . . .

Watched an old #PerryMason the other day. One actor's voice was unmistakable as a guest star in an original recipe #StarTrek episode - looked him up, and yup, checked out. Noticed IMDB had a mention of his son being a founding member of an old band I haven't thought about in decades but recalled hearing a snippet of one track I always kinda liked in an ad on the radio back in the day.

And now...here we are

This happens no matter what I do/watch/listen to/exist near.
Someone send help.

"Tauromachine" by #Merzbow.

Some good ear-candy here in places. This follows 90s "Venereology" and "Pulse Demon" on Relapse records, and it's a pretty good follow-up. A bit more mechanical/repetitive/technoish attitude but still good. On couple tracks I need to check that my old CD player is not skipping.

A recent 2023 re-release has 2 CDs and 5 extra tracks. It's all good.

"Too Tough To Die" by #Ramones.

A pretty good solid album. Early 80s with some synth influence even (Eurythmics guy produces one track). Also some of the hard rock / doo-wop songs reminds of Zappa's pastiche stuff of this era.

CD from 2002 almost doubles amount of tracks, still pretty compact as punk should be. The liner notes have a tribute to Dee Dee Ramone who died same year this re-release came out - tribute words by Johnny Ramone who died in 2004.
