Hearing the news about protesters in Wales wanting to bury overhead power lines rather than have pylons because of the environmental impact. Protesters missing that burying cables involves digging very large trenches through fields, walls, trees, SSSIs, ancient Monuments etc. Potentially in 40-50 years the process may need to be repeated when cables are replaced. Sure, overhead power lines are visually intrusive,but the damage to the environment is significantly less, never mind the lower costs. #energy #pylons #wales

His hat size bore no relevance to the gnawing hunger following two food free days on the trail. These may well be electricity pylons he thought, but as they were not due to blot the landscape for another three hundred years he refused to acknowledge their lack of existence.

“The cost of reducing energy bills for people who live near pylons will be paid for by increasing average annual bills across the country by 80p, Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has told the BBC.” So we have to pay to have our countryside ruined so rich people can carry on driving their SUVs.
