Brazilian rosewood truss rod cover… It looks amazing in person. $35 for a little piece of wood is dumb, but it matches the fretboard and looks so cool.

OK, guitarists of Mastodon, I need a second opinion.

I found a PRS McCarty 594 Wood Library guitar that I want real badly. It has a beautiful curly maple top in McCarty Burst and a Brazilian Rosewood board.

To get it, I’d have to sell my existing core 594, plus add about $1000. My current 594 is beautiful, with a Trampas green top, natural back, and the gen 3 tuners (my favorites).

Is the nicer top and Brazilian board worth it?

I want this guitar so badly, but I’d have to trade away one guitar I love and another I really like. This Custom 24 has the same pickups as the guitar I love, though, so I’d likely have the same tones available.

The other side is do I really need a Wood Library PRS?! Of course not, but I really really like it.

Talk me off the ledge.
