The first electric car was invented before the first gasoline-powered car. Also, the first petrol-driven cars were seen as cleaner and environmentally friendly, because they offered an alternative to horses that left the streets splattered with piles of horse poop everywhere you looked.

Have I said that we get a lot of jackrabbits [2] in the yard in the winter here? Prairie life.

[2] White-tailed jackrabbit, which is actually a hare, not a rabbit at all. AKA prairie hare.

The entire yard is covered with small black objects, which are actually jackrabbit (hare) poop. Like, many, many thousands of them.
