It should be apparent to anyone taking notice that our govt(s) are becoming more intolerant of #FreeSpeech and #PeacefulProtest. The result of restrictive laws are readily seen in #PoliceViolence on the street, as if somehow these 'servants of the people' have caught the public order violence epidemic we see in the US.

Hannah Thomas is currently the most visible case in point. In her article she reminds us that the Minns govt is overreaching with freedoms restrictive legilsation and reminds us of NSW police #Brutality and #CoverUp.

All police murders get less media than they deserve. I like that the guardian is revisiting this one.

"Bijan’s death was, Kelly says, “not just a loss. It was an absolute catastrophe. An obliteration.” The family lost more than their son that day: “We lost our faith in our country, our government. We saw that nothing, absolutely nothing we had believed about our country was true. That the system we thought was there to protect us was now going to fight us to protect their own people and we would be the only ones calling for justice for Bijan.”"

Read Seattle APP’s response to the DOJ’s recommendation to sentence #BreonnaTaylor 's murderer to one day.

This ruling by the DOJ is a slap in the face to victims of police violence and is a sign of the increasing callousness of the Trump administration’s handling of police brutality. Both of which underpin the ever-growing need of an Affected Persons Program (APP).
