Manchester Beach, Point Arena, and the bluffs

@enog I love lighthouses. But West Coast lighthouses have a “problem”: they're always in beautiful and interesting places, and I get distracted. 
We were planning to visit this lighthouse at Point Arena and then continue to Mendocino, but spent 3+ hours exploring Stornetta and never got to Mendocino. 
Stornetta Public Lands, California
The bluffs at Stornetta were once coastal seafloor that was uplifted by the movement of the Pacific Plate millions of years ago to form a terrace. The sides of the terrace eroded and collapsed over time to form the bluffs seen today. The top of the bluffs looks and feels like poured concrete.

MENDOCINO COUNTY | POINT ARENA
As of 8:28 pm 1/4/23 Highway 1 in both directions in downtown Point Arena from Riverside Dr. to Lake St. is closed due to downed trees. It is expected to reopen around 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

"Point Arena Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 5th. We plan to resume school on Friday, January 6th. We will contact families as best we can without power and internet."
