STownsendImagesSunset ShipThe Peter Iredale was a British ship that ran aground on the Oregon coast in 1906. Today, its rusty remains are a popular attraction at Fort Stevens State Park. The best time to see the shipwreck is at sunset, when the sky is painted with vibrant colors. The contrast between the beauty of nature and the decay of the metal creates a striking scene.
