Next to a busy intersection in #Zurich, a small road leads to the Häderlihof, a small, calm courtyard, lush with greenery, that evokes the feeling of a small village. This balcony on a classical building in #Athens, Greece, is quite damaged. The supporting cantilevers are shaped to resemble carved stone, but the damage reveals that they’re actually reinforced #concrete, clad in plaster panels. I wonder how this was constructed: the panels look prefabricated and appear to have been attached to rebars protruding from the sides of the concrete beam. #architecture #ornaments #construction
