#hiking #pnw #northcascades Hiked the East Bank Trail along Ross Lake with a friend today. It’s a mostly tree lined hike at the start. No snow. We did about 11 miles round trip. It was a hard workout without a specific destination. Saw 5-6 overnight hiking groups - a Scouting troop, some twos and threes, a family, and some solos. The NCNP has been discovered. It’s a good thing in the long run - use supports the park. No vistas - just closeups.

#pnw #hiking #northcascades 1) Hiked the Canyon Creek Trail off SR 20 yesterday, until it got a little sketchy. Someone is doing trail work. There were 50 cars at the Ross Dam trailhead. We kept driving on until we found a trail with only 2 other people hiking.

Want to do an exploratory 1 night camp to practice ultralight techniques. Apologies for the poor pictures. The moss was amazing. Almost a rain forest. Even if the snow pack was low, we had a lot of rain this year. And this is a chance to get out before the crowds. There was no one else on the trail. I’ll go by the #nps today if it still exists.
