Strypey<p>If you haven't read a novel called The Fifth Sacred Thing, written by a peace activist called Starhawk, now would be a good time. I'm planning to get hold of a copy and read it again, along with the prequel and sequel novels, which I only recently learned about.</p><p>It's about how a nonviolent solarpunk community resists invasion by a brutal and expanding authoritarian empire. @benroyce The caption is not correct. Nonviolence has nothing to do with whether the opponent has a conscience - it operates on a theory of power that says that if you undercut the pillars of regime power, the regime falls. The documentary _Bringing Down a Dictator_ gives an example of how this was done to Milosevic in Serbia - he had no conscience and yet the movement to oust him won.
